Quinta Do Noval Fine White Port

Indigenous white varieties off old vines from the highest areas of the Douro. With its golden colour and fruity bouquet, this is finely balanced, sweet and aromatic. Served chilled, it makes an excellent aperitif.

White port is a polarizing style of port produced by every major house on the Douro river. The style, often derided by traditionalists, has become increasingly popular as a chilled aperitif and mixing agent in cocktails. Typically inexpensive, white port is almost universally produced to a medium (or higher) sweetness level. Higher residual sugar levels are responsible for the sweetness and alcohol levels tend to be slightly lower than red-port styles. The wine receives little or no maceration during fermentation.

APPEARANCE: Clear, medium lemon.

NOSE: clean, medium + intensity with aromas of stone fruit (peach, apricot), citrus fruit (grapefruit, orange peel), green fruit (green apple, pear, melon). Fruity and rich in primary fruit, but this style won't develop anymore, thus it is fully developed.

PALATE: medium-sweet, high alcohol, low acidity, with a medium body and a oily texture that make it quite fatty. Flavours intensity is medium + and it show a very fruity flavour profile, with stone fruits aromas being the most prominent (ripe peach and apricot) followed by ripe green fruit (juicy melon, golden apple, pear). Medium + finish with lingering fruity flavour.
