Known as the entry level beer for the Epic range. Described as "easy drinking" by many, and not too much of a challenge for those accustomed to green bottle lagers. It's a lager, but with an Epic twist - a twist that won a Gold Medal at the Australian International Beer Awards in 2017 and Top 30 at the New World Beer & Cider Awards in 2019. We have boosted the hop aroma and hop flavour so that is still offers a decent amount of hop interest for those that are craft curious; flavour without it being overwhelming and tasting like hop flowers.

Ingredients – US grown hops Columbus, Centennial, Simcoe and Mosaic.
The flavour is driven by the sub tropical fruits (including passionfruit & mango) from the Mosaic hops. There is a fun level of dankness. Massive hop flavour is matched to a subtle level of bitterness, which makes for wonderful enjoyment.

We have been asked for a long time “When are you going to make a Pilsner”. Technically Epic Lager could be called a pilsner but at the time of release it would have been too confusing.
Luke has taken his time crafting what he believes an Epic Pilsner should be; Hoppy, Fruit Aromatics, with a noticeable yet not overwhelming hop flavour on the palate and firm but gentle hop bitterness.
The name “Awakening” hopefully captures that moment a new craft beer drinker enjoys their first glass of a flavourful craft beer. Awakening Pils could be seen as a gateway beer between Epic Lager and the rest of the family of Epic beers.
