“Six clones of pinot noir were hand-harvested from several vineyards in the Wairau Valley over a period of 10 days. The grapes were 100 per cent destemmed and fermented using indigenous yeasts. The wine was matured in French oak barrels (40 per cent new) for 12 months. Aromatic wine with layers of cherry, plum, spice and subtle florals. “Medium ruby-purple in color, the 2011 Pinot Noir possesses a nose of mulberries, black raspberries and kirsch accented by underlying hints of cardamom, forest floor and moss.
