New Zealand is the birthplace of 42BELOW vodka, which just so happens to be positioned 42 degrees below the equator. And by a chance of geological luck, the region is considered the benchmark for air and water purity, providing the perfect environment for making the world's most awarded vodka.

Since 2002, 42BELOW has captured 87 international awards, earning medals in some of the world's most prestigious spirits competitions, including "Best in Class" at the 2009 International Wine & Spirits Competition and multiple Gold nods during the 2009 Monde Selection

The result is a more rustic vodka but one that offers interesting complexity that grows as you sip it. There’s a medium-strength nuttiness here, rare in vodkas, balanced by a nicely sweet aftertaste and a slightly bitter, metallic finish. It is still unmistakably a vodka, but it’s complex in the way that gin can be, with hints of citrus on the palate, too. And yet it’s easy to drink, too.

It finishes with a clean, lightly sweet, sugar dust, wet straw and balanced pepper fade.
