Wine estate Jacob’s Creek was founded in 1847, when Johann Gramp planted his first vines along the banks of Jacob’s Creek in South Australia. His dream, which is the vision of the company to this day, was to craft delightful wines that showcase the true character of the grapes and the Australian land. The brand sources fruit for its wines from diverse regions like Barossa Valley, Adelaide Hills and Coonawarra.
The grapes used to craft Jacob’s Creek Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon were fermented on their skins under carefully controlled temperatures for a fortnight. The key components were aged in oak hogsheads for a year. The resulting wine exhibits a deep red colour, and exudes associated varietal aromas of cassis, spice and leaf from its attractive nose. This bouquet makes way for a rich palate, brimming with flavours of dark berries and cedar accompanied by tight grainy tannins. The wine culminates in a long finish. Relish the flavours of this drink now or cellar it for about a decade for a rewarding experience. This wonderful dry red wine tastes amazing with beef rib roast, lamb cutlets and mature cheeses.
